Through a unique partnership, Old Mill Center and Starker Forests are proud to provide high-quality early childhood care at Betty’s House. Located at Starker Forests’ corporate offices and run by Old Mill Center staff, this Oregon-certified Family Child Care facility serves children from 6 weeks to 5 years old.
Betty’s House is named in memory of Elizabeth “Betty” Starker Cameron, whose passion for learning, nature, and community helped shape the core values of Starker Forests. An accomplished landscape architect, artist, pilot, and advocate for youth and family services, Betty was also known for her generosity and hospitality. She welcomed and cared for generations of Starker staff and their families, creating a strong sense of connection and belonging.
Having spent her life quietly working to leave the world more beautiful than she found it, Betty continues to inspire the warm, nurturing spirit of Betty’s House.

Surrounded by trees and natural beauty, Betty’s House offers a warm, home-like environment where children can explore, learn, and grow with confidence and curiosity.
Sensory exploration, open-ended discovery, music, art and movement are all part of everyday life at Betty’s House. Outdoor play is included daily—weather permitting—to support children’s physical well-being and connection with their world.
Located between Corvallis and Philomath, Betty’s House is part of the Starker Forests campus at 7240 Philomath Boulevard in southwest Corvallis.

Betty’s House is dedicated to supporting the needs of working families in our community. We are open Monday–Friday from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Throughout the day, children benefit from caring relationships, dependable routines, active supervision, and positive, respectful guidance.
Old Mill Center’s belief that each child is unique and deserves to be supported and celebrated for who they are guides everything we do at Betty’s House. Our program places special emphasis on early learning and social-emotional growth, helping children build confidence, resilience, and a strong foundation for future success.

- 6:30 AM: Drop-off & Quiet Arrival
- 7:00 AM: Bathroom / Diaper Check #1
- 7:15 AM: Breakfast & Morning Chat
- 8:00 AM: Morning Circle (songs, weather, daily goals)
- 8:30 AM: Creative Play / Learning Centers (art, blocks, sensory)
- 9:00 AM: Bathroom / Diaper Check #2
Mid-Day Energy
- 9:15 AM: Morning Snack
- 9:45 AM: Active Outdoor Play
- 11:00 AM: Bathroom / Diaper Check #3
- 11:15 AM: Lunch Time
- 12:00 PM: Story Time & Nap Prep
Rest & Afternoon Finish
- 12:30–2:30 PM: Nap / Quiet Time (No checks during sleep)
- 2:30 PM: Wake Up & Bathroom / Diaper Check #4
- 2:45 PM: Afternoon Snack
- 3:15 PM: Afternoon Free Play / Outdoor Exploration
- 4:00 PM: Bathroom Check #5 & Parent Pickup
Experienced caregivers. Trusted care.
All care providers at Betty’s House are enrolled in the Central Background Registry (CBR) as required by Oregon licensing. Any assistants or substitutes meet all background check and training requirements. Visitors do not have unsupervised access to children.
Betty’s House is licensed to serve up to 12 children and is regulated by the Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC). We maintain staff-to-child ratios in compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules for Certified Family Child Care Homes. Ratios are maintained during all activities, including indoor play, outdoor play, and transitions.
Simple, flexible tuition options.
Our goal is to provide a supportive, inclusive and affordable child care program. Monthly tuition is based on the number of days your child attends.

Please note that rates include a spot for your child even on absent days. Tuition is due regardless of attendance unless otherwise stated.
