Family Grief Support Group

A monthly meeting of fun, learning and support for families
with children and teens ages 4–18 who are grieving.

Children and teens participate in age-specific groups and engage in creative activities that encourage open discussion, expression and provide valuable education about grief and loss. Parents and guardians participate in an adult group to learn more about how to support grieving children and teens.

Meets the first Wednesday of each month —
Old Mill Center for Children & Families, 1650 SW 45th Place, Corvallis, OR

This class supports parents and children through the trauma of divorce or separation, by helping parents address their children’s needs during and after divorce.

Topics Include:
  • Grieving the loss and moving on
  • How children react to conflict
  • Active listening
  • Other strategies to help kids and parents cope with divorce

2½ hour one-time class. Offered twice per month.

Fee: $45 per person

Our children are spending more time on smartphones, tablets and computers. Teachers and parents are growing increasingly concerned about how all this screen time will affect our children’s lives.

We will explore how to encourage children (birth to age 5) to practice self-control, self-regulation, and unplug from unhealthy distractions—and plug into good ones!

New Pediatric Therapy Services at Old Mill Center

Date: September 1, 2019 - September 30, 2019
Old Mill Center signDuring September, physical and occupational therapy services previously provided by Pediatric Therapy Professionals will begin transitioning to Old Mill Center.

“We hope to make this transition as seamless as possible for all involved,” said Bettina Schempf, Old Mill Center Executive Director.

Several pediatric therapist positions are currently available. See our Employment page for position descriptions and application details.

The services will be available at Old Mill Center, where they have been the last couple years. We will let you know when the transition is complete and referrals should be made to Old Mill Center. Stay tuned for details.
